Pretty lighting

I have to say, I absolutely hate the current bathroom lighting we have and would love to change it. We live in rented accomodation at the moment and we’re not really allowed to change things like that. The thing is it looks gorgeous, it’s a really nice shade, the bulbs are fancy, it looks expensive – but it directs all the light upwards and off to the side so it’s utterly useless for doing many of the things a lady wants to do in a bathroom. If you are just in there using the loo or brushing your teeth there’s no problem but when you want to start applying make up or plucking your eyebrows you have no chance.

It’s a smiliar tale in the living room as well – the light looks beautiful and expensive but it will only take really high wattage bulbs so whenever it’s on you are always thinking about how much it’s costing, or at least I am because that’s how I think. We bought a cheap lamp that takes an energy saving bulb and we tend to just use that all the time instead, only turing the main light on when we really need to see or find something.

Strumming

I have just been looking at some electric guitar songs online – to see if I think I could handle learning them, it’s something I have always wanted to do but never quite found the time, you know how it is when you struggle to find the motivation or worry that you’ll make yourself look silly. I think it’s now or never though because what’s the worst that will happen? I have the guitar and the guides are free online, plus I can try it in the privacy of my own home so what do I have to lose?

Training to be a locksmith

I have been looking at locksmith courses for my other half recently – he loves his current job but things are looking a little rocky there and he’s not sure how much longer he’ll actually have his job sadly. Locksmiths earn a good amount of money and are always in demand, no matter what is happening in the econemy people will always need work on locks.

Valentines day specs

I love wearing glasses, I always have done. I wore them from a very early age so I guess I am just used to them – it amazes me how much my parents used to have to pay for glasses when I was younger though, they could easily cost hundreds of pounds on the high street. Unlike now where as long as you know your PD you can order some online for as little as $6.95 from sites like Zenni Optical among others.

What’s great about them being so cheap is that you can buy more – I have several pairs to suit my various moods, what I am wearing or even the season. With valentines day just around the corner now I am thinking of getting some nice Valentine’s Day glasses to add to my collection. I don’t think I will go for any thing too obvious like a heart or flower pattern, but something in pink maybe, despite it being my favourite colour for some reason I don’t already own any pink glasses.

I may even ask my other half to purchase them for me as a gift for valentines day, I’d always rather have something that will last rather than the traditional gifts such as chocolate and flowers.

Needing a new Boomerang Looper

I need to pick up a new boomerang looper if any one knows where I might be able to get one? The one my husband and I have had for eons has finally packed in and stopped working – it’s been on its last legs for as long as I can remember now but we liked it so much we kept putting off getting it replaced.

Speeding.

Like most responsible drivers I hate to see people speeding excessivly, but lets be honest we all drive over the speed limit at times and that’s why I hate speed traps – they are just a money spinner for the police and end up costing lots of generally great drivers lots of money, rather than catching people who speed as a habit or a ridiculous amount over the limit.

I have been considering getting one of the Best Radar Detectors for a while now, but they don’t come cheap and as I don’t make a habit of speeding I wonder if it would really be worth my while. What are the Best Radar Detectors for 2011? If I were going to purchase one I would want to make sure I was spending my money wiseley and getting the most bang for my buck.

Thyroid issues

I am going to the doctors later in the week, just for a check up, and I am going to ask if they can check to see if I have any sort of Thyroid imbalance while I am there. It is something my mum has had issues with most of her life and it seems likely that it might cause me problems at some point as well.

Wearing more organic make up

I would like to start wearing more organic make up as I find it really gentle on my skin. A lot of people say that it’s more expensive and not worth the extra but I strongly disagree – I have to pay extra to get ‘sensitive’ make up any way and the organic items do just as good a job and only cost the same amount or even less. For me it’s the way forward.

Insane deals from Nomorerack

I love daily deal and flash sale websites like nomorerack, the only trick is working out which offers to snap up because they are real genuine bargains and which to avoid because as cheap as it may be, you really don’t need a motorbike cover or another hat :)

For example they currently have $45 worth of mani/pedi products for just a penny shipped, clearly a killer deal, but would I use them? Well, probably yes and at just a penny how can I resist? Ordered :)

Where to buy?

Does any one know where I could get some industrial bearings at the best possible price? They have asked me to help them source some at work but it’s a litte out of my usual area so I am not sure where the best place to look it, I have some ‘tricks of the trade’ for most other work related items I order on their behalf but not this time.
