I am a girl, therefore I like flowers

Oooh I didn’t realise that Martha Stewart had a range of flowers, that is pretty awesome.

I admit it, I am a Martha fan — I had always sort of known who she was but wasn’t really interested when I was younger, but then I saw her version of The Apprentice and became more of a home maker myself and I just thought she was really strong and inspirational :)

Flowers always remind me of when my husband proposed, he bought countless bouquets and literally filled an entire room with them. It was the most romantic thing he’s ever done for me, and well I should think so too…if a guy isn’t going to be romantic when he proposes then when is he going to be? hehe. I had no where to put them though so most died after a short time, it was such a pity.

on’t expect him to fill a room again, but a really nice bouquet goes down a treat with me.

You can view a collection at 1800Flowers.com and when you order a bouquet you get a free subscription to Martha Stewart Living magazine.

Wrinkles, Me?

I wonder what the best anti wrinkle cream is? Something that isn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg but is known to be effective. My mom has been telling me for years that it’s never too early to start using anti wrinkle cream but I have never really paid attention to her, now that I am 30 I am starting to think maybe she’s right and the time has come.

If you love Lucky Brand products like I do you might be interested to know that they currently have a pretty sweet sale going on. You can get Lucky Brand boots for as low as $100 – I want some so much, I do need some new boots for the upcoming winter months but am currently fighting with myself over if I should buy them or not, I definitely want some from a known and trusted name like Lucky Brand but with Christmas just around the corner I need to save up, not spend.

I was hoping to buy some in the post Christmas sales but get the feeling money will be equally as tight then.

So I may as well get them now, they are a great price so why not?

Argh what to do, what to do?

A Special Gift

Tomorrow I am going to go watch shopping, it is my husbands birthday in July and he is going to be the big 30. I have been thinking for a few months already about what to get him, as I want it to be something special, and eventually decided on a nice Timex watch :)

Of course I would love to be able to buy him something even fancier, but my budget doesn’t allow for it and I think Timex is a great solution — well known and respected brand, loads of choice for all tastes and won’t break the bank. So far this lovely Timex Expedition Traditional Leather Full watch is on top of my list.

He’s going to love it I am sure. He’d better at least, by the time I actually come to buy it I will have probably spent 6 months trying to pick out the perfect one for him!

Deal Dash penny auctions

I love a good offer, bargain, sale, deal, freebie or misprice – it is something I am known for among my friends. Whenever I post about something on Facebook or other social media site they all say “Again?” as in I have won another competition, got an item worth £100 for £10 thanks to some misprice or glitch etc :)

I would like to say I find all of this stuff myself but it’s not the case, there are forums and websites dedicated to finding them and I just get all of my information from them. There are a couple of great UK sites I know of and one of my recent favourites is DealDash which is a fair and honest auction website and a great alternative to ‘the mighty’ ebay who like most people these days, I really do not like with their extortionate fees and always siding with the buyer rather than the seller.

What is interesting about it as well is that it’s a penny auction site – the bid increment is always one penny and they have free shipping on all items so the seller can’t stiff you on that as they often do elsewhere. Because of the way DealDash works you can win many items for as much as 95% less than RRP.

Playing craps online

It may feel like craps have been around for eons, because with a concept simple as this game employs you can easily imagine the Ancient Romans or Egyptians rolling dice made out of stone and placing bets against each other. Such a story is very plausible since the earliest games of dice date back thousands of years, with origins in Southeastern Asia. However, the game we all know as craps and its street version “shooting dice” has a more recent origin.

It is believed to be developed in the United Kingdom in the Modern Age with a pronounced French influence, which gave the game its original name – crapaud (“frog” in French, referring to the sited position of players during a typical street game). It wasn’t long that the game made it to New Orleans and then spread all over the United States before gambling legislation restricted this activity. But you can still see a lot of people playing street craps all over the USA and the world, while nearly all casinos feature at least a couple of tables that let you shoot die against the bank. And since this is a pure game of chance, there are always people surrounding the table of craps.

One would assume that playing a game with such a pronounced physical aspect as craps isn’t very popular on the web. But judging by the number of sites offering all sorts of craps games you can clearly see that the game is thriving online. You can even run into a site with a detailed description of online craps bonus promotions, which means that people are so eager to enjoy the game online that they are even searching for bonuses on it. Nearly all big online casinos feature different versions of craps that offer the original atmosphere of the game.

Even if you don’t get to hold the dice in your hand and the outcome of your roll is determined by a random number generator you still get the same thrilling spirit of craps that usually draws so many people to the table. And if there’s a particular type of craps you are interested in or you want to check out different visual aspects – the web lets you find just anything you can think of. On top of that, you can enjoy great bonuses while playing craps online, which will make your time at the virtual table even more entertaining.

He wants headphones for Christmas

I have been nagging my boyfriend for weeks about what he wants for Christmas as I like to be organised and have already spent a long time looking through sites with Xmas Gift Ideas. He’s eventually let me know he wants some really good wireless headphones for use at night when he’s playing Call of Duty.

He has had some in-ear headphones for years that are now falling to pieces and although I have kept suggesting he get some new ones he wasn’t too interested. I think that now he’s taking his DJing more seriously he’s realised that it really is time for a replacement pair.

I have used price comparison sites before and have found that they are really straight forward and simple to use and in the passed I have ended up paying just shy of 50% less than I would have done if I had just bought the item from my local store – that’s a pretty sweet saving and given how quick and easy it is it boggles my mind that people shop online at all without checking prices first!

Water filters

I need to find a good water filter supplier in the area. We definitely need filtered water here and back home we had a great source of filters that were really cheap if you bought in bulk – they are really expensive if you don’t do it that way so I have been looking around online for a few days trying to find a good place local to the new house.

Bartering practice

I need to get in some practice at bartering for when we go abroad in June – the place we are going to has lots of markets and the like and we want to buy a lot of pressies and goodies for our new home. I am terrible at bartering though because I am quite shy, I wonder if I will be able to pick up some tips from a site like ComeToBarter.com.

More security at work

I was just looking up some wireless security systems online as my boss has decided it’s time to get one at work – I have been telling him that since the day I started working there so as soon as he expressed an interest I was more than happy to jump on it and start doing some research on prices for him.

Hopefully he’ll go through with it :)
