I am pretty new to this whole website owning game, I have had a few sites before and even a blog but it was hosted on good old blogspot. When I decided it was time for me to branch out and get my own domain it was pretty daunting — finding the right registrar and host was a minefield.
I have to give a lot of credit to web hosting choice because their site helped me decide which host to ultimately choose. You can use their advanced search to plug in your requirements and they will come back with a list of suitable hosts, or you can just browse their listing by highest ranked. I am pleased to still my host still there, pretty high up on that list
