I know three people who are taking nursing degrees online at the moment and I know at least 2 others who are seriously considering it. Nurses make up the largest group of medical professionals and there are ample jobs available at the moment so it makes sense that people are flocking into it. Of course there’s also the fact it is a very rewarding career – the world needs nurses just as much as it needs doctors, and police and firemen.
It’s not something I think I could personally do because I am simply too squeamish – the idea of getting an injection fills me with fear so the idea of given injections isn’t at all appealing. I am also not empathetic enough and lack the patience you no doubt need in order to deal with patients in the correct manner. So no, nursing is not for me – but thankfully it is for lots of people.
I know that it’s hard work and pretty thankless a lot of the time but nurses are unsung heroes in my opinion.
I love that you can even do degrees online these days as well, times have changed a lot. When I was at school we didn’t even have Internet access nevermind the ability to train online!
