I have spent the last few hours looking up the best treatment for eczema on behalf of my nephew, I have blogged about this before I think but he does suffer terribly with it and nothing we have tried in the passed has really helped – not in the long term any way. It’s really starting to affect his confidence so anything I can do to help is a big plus

Did you hear about the accutane lawsuit 2009? It’s an ongoing thing actually and it’s all about the medicine called accutane that is used to treat severe cases of acne.

The general gist is that this is an approved drug that helps people with very bad acne, but for some reason it was being prescribed to people with much milder cases when it really shouldn’t have been because the dangers and possible side effects far outweigh the possible benefits in milder cases.

It all makes me rather grateful that I never suffered too badly from acne. Of course like most teenagers I had the odd outbreak (usually at the most inopportune times!) but it was nothing that some over the counter lotions and potions couldn’t sort out in a few days.

I can understand why people want to seek compensation if they have been effect, some of the side effects caused sound really nasty and it was totally avoidable. I feel like you really should be able to trust that what your doctor provides you with will be safe and correct for you – once that trust is gone it’s almost impossible to get it back again and could affect people for life.

Ooopsie daisy, I gained 3lbs over Christmas and the new year.

I am OK with that really though, because I really did take my foot off the pedal and splurged — given how my body is used to eating I am surprised I didn’t gain more.

My hope now is that the change will give my metabolism a boost and that the 3lbs will drop straight back off again, a long with many more pounds.

I am officially back on the wagon.

Good diet and daily work outs here I come.
