When we first meet he drove this clapped out old Peugeot and he didn’t care too much for it, it was always filthy and he begrudged every cent he had to pay towards running and up-keeping it. But that all changed once he got his new Golf and he turned into your typical ‘guy who loves his car’ – spending not only far too much time on it but also far too much money.

He got some new lights for it a few months ago that cost an arm and a leg and i couldn’t get my head around them as they looked the same as the old ones to me but he assures me they are much better and definitely worth the money!

I know he’s going to come back from the store with more than just the chrome rims we agreed on as well because he always does.

I don’t mind him spending money on his car really, he doesn’t spend what we don’t have and it is pretty much his only expensive hobby and we all deserve to have at least one expensive hobby right?

Of course I would love to be able to buy him something even fancier, but my budget doesn’t allow for it and I think Timex is a great solution — well known and respected brand, loads of choice for all tastes and won’t break the bank. So far this lovely Timex Expedition Traditional Leather Full watch is on top of my list.

He’s going to love it I am sure. He’d better at least, by the time I actually come to buy it I will have probably spent 6 months trying to pick out the perfect one for him!

Of course we had to spend months beating off 1000s of “but you have to do this and that” questions and statements beforehand, a lot of people had a hard time understanding or accepting we just didn’t want the bells and whistles — the amount of times I was told by female friends and relatives that I would look back on it one day and regret it, ugh.

We did the vows, we did wedding favors, we had bridesmaids and a best man and that was it

My lovely Husband is away until Monday night, so no big romanticals to report here — but that’s OK as we don’t usually do much for Valentines Day any way, usually just a nice card and maybe a little something something.

This year I have got him a Thorntons chocolate heart which I will give to him on Monday night…and I might let him see my new under wear as well

At the time I was embarrassed to admit that, because it was before the days when online dating sites and the like were cool and the Internet was such a common place to meet partners.

We didn’t meet on a dating website however, we just met randomly in a chat room — knew each other for around 4 years before we eventually met up and the rest as they say, is history

As I suspected, he got into a bit of a tussle with the guys at the garage because they were saying they couldn’t find any faults.

He insisted on sitting there doing things until they happened right in front of their eyes so that they couldn’t say they don’t exist — then he had to sit and wait while they retested it and updated software and all sorts of other things.

I still don’t think it has every complaint fixed, but they have said they will take care of any ongoing issues even after the warranty expires at the end of the week.

Well he went to pick it up 3 hours ago now! The dealership is a 2 minute walk away. He’s not answering his cell so I have no idea what’s happened or where he’s ended up.

Not that I am worried about him, there will have just have been a problem he’s engrossed in — but still, he could call to let me know what’s going on.

Hubby and I have just finished exchanging gifts, he loved every thing that I got him and I loved what he got me — a beautiful watch and necklace. Aren’t I spoiled?

Now, off to try and make Christmas dinner for the first time ever hehe. I don’t think this is going to go too well, I struggle to make even the basics

I have got my husband some really great gifts, I don’t want to say what exactly here as he might read this…shhh…but I got him so many great bargains that even though I have not spent a lot on him I know he will be thrilled and it will take a good while for him to open every thing

I am excited also because I have no idea what he is getting me, he says it’s a surprise
