I love daily deal and flash sale websites like nomorerack, the only trick is working out which offers to snap up because they are real genuine bargains and which to avoid because as cheap as it may be, you really don’t need a motorbike cover or another hat

For example they currently have $45 worth of mani/pedi products for just a penny shipped, clearly a killer deal, but would I use them? Well, probably yes and at just a penny how can I resist? Ordered

Does any one know where I could get some industrial bearings at the best possible price? They have asked me to help them source some at work but it’s a litte out of my usual area so I am not sure where the best place to look it, I have some ‘tricks of the trade’ for most other work related items I order on their behalf but not this time.

A portrait for Christmas?

Thinking about last minute Christmas gifts? Me too! I thought that I was ready but my other half just announced we need to get his parents something, apparently the gift that he’s gone in with with his sisters is seperate from ‘ours’ – not sure I understand why and I am not impressed that now at the last minute I have to think of a gift they might like and fast so that I can get it before the big day.

Someone suggested a nice photo gift and I like the idea so I did a quick search for “photographer manchester” to see if there was any where local that came highly recommended and came across James Broome Photography. They do portraits of children, families, pets and any thing else.

I am sure my in laws would appreciate a nice portrait of their grandchildren to hang on the wall – they have loads of photos in montages but nothing beats a nice big professional portrait hanging on the wall.

He wants headphones for Christmas

I have been nagging my boyfriend for weeks about what he wants for Christmas as I like to be organised and have already spent a long time looking through sites with Xmas Gift Ideas. He’s eventually let me know he wants some really good wireless headphones for use at night when he’s playing Call of Duty.

He has had some in-ear headphones for years that are now falling to pieces and although I have kept suggesting he get some new ones he wasn’t too interested. I think that now he’s taking his DJing more seriously he’s realised that it really is time for a replacement pair.

I have used price comparison sites before and have found that they are really straight forward and simple to use and in the passed I have ended up paying just shy of 50% less than I would have done if I had just bought the item from my local store – that’s a pretty sweet saving and given how quick and easy it is it boggles my mind that people shop online at all without checking prices first!

I needed some new cheap eyeglasses recently, I used to wear them growing up but was told I no longer needed them when I was around 15. Because I spend a lot of time on the computer for work and I had been getting a lot of headaches recently I decided to go get them tested and sure enough was told I really should be wearing them.

Thankfully I know about sites like ZenniOptical where you can get hugely discounted eyeglasses online, because money is tight at the moment.

When I was growing up there was no way of getting out of paying the $100s opticians would charge for glasses but now thankfully there is.

It seems opticians are getting wise to the fact people are going to them for tests and then ordering their specs online though and are making it harder for them to do so by withholding important information such as your PD (Pupillary Distance), which is just so wrong on so many levels.

You are entitled to that information, and in fact any information you request from them, so if you come across a tricky optician be sure to stand your ground and let them know that they are obliged to give it to you

I think I am going to do a little retail therapy this weekend and buy some sexy lingerie as a treat, it’s ages since I got any and I reached a weight loss milestone a few weeks ago (100 pounds lost) so it could be my little reward

Boot Dryers

I came across some CozyWinters.com boot dryers a few days ago and it made me think that it was such a great idea, usually when we get in all soggy during the winter we just throw all our wet stuff on the rug – but of course that then gets drenched so either way you have to dry something. I wish we had known about them earlier as they are really handy to have around.

Time for a new watch?

I am considering getting a bulova watch at the moment, it’s been a while since the last time I bought myself a nice watch and I used to wear them all the time. I suppose sadly they have become somewhat obsolete these days what with us all carrying mobile phones and other gadgets that have the time on them. Still it’s nice to have an actual watch I feel.

Some of my friends are so in to designer clothes and accessories that it’s crazy, they won’t wear any thing else and are willing to spend an absolute fortune on some items. I do like some designer stuff, coogi is probably my favourite, but I see it as a treat – something to save up for and wear on special occasions, not an every day thing.

I am so happy to have discovered the website “It’s a guy thing” a few weeks ago, they sell items for guys – although I am sure there’s no law against us ladies buying things for ourselves as well – the gadgets, gizmo’s and bits and bobs are aimed at men, real men.

My other half is so difficult to buy for these days, he’s really picky and having been together for so long now I have really run out of ideas. In the next month we have our anniversary (8 years!) and his 30th birthday so that’s two presents I have to think up and purchase for him, there’s also father’s day just around the corner and I find my dad equally as tricky to buy for these days.

Browsing the site I already have lots of great ideas – I know my other half would love the wine cooler, but it’s a little more than we usually spend on each other so I may combine the anniversary and birthday and call it a joint gift – we will be away in Spain on his birthday any way so it makes sense to give him an early gift.

I just hope he puts as much time and effort into picking my gift
