I like winter, it’s my favourite season – but enough is enough and seeing the grass has really made me yearn for the summer – the long warm evenings, the drinking outside, reading on the porch, eating scrummy food at barbeques, sleeping with the window open.

Having said that I may throw a barbeque next weekend, I was reading an article just today about the benefits of using a barbeque throughout the year – who says they have to just be for summer? It’s a great way to get all of your friends together, I may even make some sort of theme night out of it – have them all come dressed as and impersonating Aussies maybe

I feel like it sort of marks the start of proper winter, it’s been cold…really cold…recently, but it’s only on Bonfire Night that winter really kicks in.

I used to love being able to wrap up warm, get the scarf and hat out for the first time and go eat hot dogs and watch beautiful fireworks.

I was heartbroken to discover that you guys don’t do Bonfire Night here in America, of course that makes sense having thought about it as it is a British tradition related to the Gun Power plot — but I hadn’t thought about it until I got here.

Hey maybe if I had known I wouldn’t have moved to America, teehee.
